Max backpack slots borderlands 2

I don't feel motivated to play Borderlands 2 with a backpack cap at 27, anyone know a workaround for this patch to increase backpack capacity to at least 50 or something. This patch has made many people angry, 27 is not enough. In Dead Island, the girl Jin ( storage girl ) has a cap of 150 slots!!
